Summer StarsĀ
As part of my design placement, I was tasked with designing a 16-page booklet for the Summer Stars Reading Adventure, a national reading program for children run by Libraries Ireland.
The brief involved transforming the supplied poster artwork and client-provided content into a playful, engaging booklet that would encourage children to participate in summer reading activities. My task was to expand the visual identity of the campaign into a fully functional booklet while maintaining consistency with the existing poster.
I was responsible for the full layout and structure of the booklet, selecting and applying child-friendly typefaces that balanced clarity with playfulness. I also recreated and expanded the poster artwork into a cohesive booklet style, designing pages that included checklists, games, activity prompts, and space for personal interaction.
The final booklet was printed and distributed to libraries across Ireland, where it served as an interactive resource for children participating in the program. The design successfully encouraged creativity, reading, and engagement through bright visuals and playful activities, while also giving me valuable experience in expanding an existing campaign identity, designing for children.
